Forgiven

“God, if you’re up there, please listen to my prayer,” Kaede whispered into the darkness, sitting alone on a couple blankets in the cool darkness of the night. She had wandered down to the beach about a quarter mile away from the campsite where she and a group of friends were. “Please let my Damion forgive me. I don’t know what it was I ever did to him, but please, let him forgive me. Let us be what we once were…”

She wandered out into the water, looking at the stars reflected on the cool surface, to be disturbed only by Kaede’s silently falling tears. “I’m sorry, Damion, for whatever I did to hurt you,” she whispered.

Little waves made Kaede look up to see Damion walking towards her. She instinctively took a step back. “Damion, I-“

“Kaede..” Damion’s voice was harsh, as he reached for her hands. “It is I who should apologize to you… I shouldn’t have listened to what Saria was saying… I know she’s a freaking liar and an envious brat…”

Kaede didn’t say anything, just let Damion pull her close, encircling her tightly into his arms. He tucked a loose strand of hair out of her face. “I forgive you, but… you’re gay, aren’t you? So.. My love for you doesn’t make any difference.” Kaede started to cry harder. “Then there is the fact you are everything I am not.. We’re worlds apart.. How is it going to work out?”

Damion softly kissed her lips, a pure innocent kiss. “I’m not gay, I’m bi, but I do prefer guys…” he sighed. “I’m just afraid of girls so much.. Because of her. And I know you aren’t and could never be like Her…” the word her being uttered with so much venom and hatred. “I just…” he bent down to kiss her again. “I love you. I am so sorry if I ever hurt you…”

“Are we pax, then?” Kaede whispered, her hands resting on his chest. She looked into his beautiful golden eyes, shaking from the cold.

“It’s pax,” He said as he picked her up and carried her to her blankets, wrapping them up in one and laying in each other’s arms on the other. And without thinking, slid one arm around her waist and another around her shoulders. Then pulled her the rest of the way up, kissing her full on the mouth.

Kaede sighed, her tears were of happiness this time. She responded, twining her arms around his neck and sliding a hand into his hair. She’d thought about this since she was a teenager. Wondered about it. Even dreamed about it…

Damion abruptly pulled away, scooting away from her. “I’m sorry,” he stammered. “That was — uncalled for.” He took several deep breaths.

“It’s all right,” she said, moving closer to him, holding him in her arms.

And with that, something changed. Damion lay next to her, trying to act like an older brother that he wasn’t, but she could feel his eyes on her. He was watching her, as if seeing her as a woman instead of his longtime friend…

And she found she didn’t mind. Tomorrow, she knew, she might wish it hadn’t happened, but tonight…

Well, she thought, I can just say I was so emotionally and physically exhausted I wasn’t thinking straight.

She snuggled into his arms, wanting to stay there forever. She thought of his many kindness and their years of friendship..

“Thank you, Damion,” Kaede whispered.

He was still as stiff as he had been a few moments ago. And his eyes were just as hungry. He didn’t have to ask what for. He knew it was for everything that they’d shared. “You’re welcome, Kaede.”

She didn’t even have a chance to respond before he had her tight as possible without hurting her in his arms, his hands cupping her face, kissing her like someone starved. Her hands slid up his chest, enjoying the feel of the muscle beneath his shirt. He slid a hand to the small of her back and pressed her against him. She arched in response, tugging his shirt out of his pants and sliding her hands up his bare chest. He shivered, then pulled back slightly to shrug the shirt off.

“That’s not fair,” he whispered. “You’re still dressed.”

“Life isn’t fair,” Kaede whispered, smiling. Her heart was beginning to race and his was keeping time with hers.

“Really?” He reached for her jacket, unfastening it and then helping her out of her shirt. His lips warmed each newly revealed piece of skin and she arched against him again, running her hands through his hair.

She had no idea how they got back to her tent, a bit away from the others who were in town for a supply run; only that when he laid her down, he left her to remove the rest of his clothing. Hers was already gone. She’d been wrapped in the blankets. Kaede made an inarticulate sound of frustration, but he was back in just a second, pressing her down, kissing her, touching her, whispering against her skin, and she knew, even as she closed her eyes and gave in to the feeling, that she was responding in kind…

And then she leaned up and kissed him. This time, it wasn’t gentle. All of the pent-up fear and uncertainty of the past few hours seemed to release at once, and she willingly met his tongue with hers, rubbing them together, eliciting a low moan from him. He cradled her face with his hands, hungrily returning the kiss. Her own hands slid up to unzip the jacket completely, and she pushed it off his shoulders, splaying her fingers against the muscle beneath his turtleneck.

Damon traced his lips down her neck and then bringing his hands back to her waist and skimming them up to cup her breasts. With his thumbs, he teased the nipples and they responded, hardening at his touch. She inhaled sharply, and his lips returned to hers.

“God,” he whispered. “Oh, God, you feel so good.”

Kaede gasped at the feel of skin on skin. Damion kissed her again, rocking his hips against hers, letting her feel his erection through the blanket wrapped around her.

“Are you sure you want this?” he asked, rasping. “I can still stop.”

She looked him in the eyes. “Quit asking questions.”

“I don’t know how much farther –“

She slipped her hands underneath his pants, cupping him gently, curling her fingers around his shaft and using her wrists to ease the waistband over his hips. His kisses became wilder, less controlled, and his hands roamed her body, not content to stop at any one place. Wanting rid of the last barrier of clothing, he slid a hand under her waistband, teasing her bud with two fingers but unable to go any further. She tried to lift her hips, to help, but his hiss of frustration and annoyance indicated it wasn’t working.

Taking the initiative, Kaede pushed Damion onto his back and rolled on top of him, kicking the blanket all the way off. Damion pulled her down into a long kiss, reaching up to loosen her hair from its braid. It fell around them, a fragrant, auburn-colored tent. His hands slid to her hips, but she caught them by the wrists, gently guiding them away while she slowly lowered herself on to him.

He thought he might explode, but in the next moment understood why she moved so slowly. It had apparently been a while and he could feel her interior muscles stretching, responding to accommodate him, fitting him so tightly the sensation was almost painful. It took every bit of willpower he had not to respond right away. His hands returned to her face, stroking the skin, trying to ease away the discomfort there.

Just when he thought he couldn’t last any longer, she rocked her hips against his. And in the next moment he was lost, moving one hand to the small of her back and tangling the other into her hair again. He leaned up to kiss the hollow of her neck and traced the line of her collarbone with his lips, moving against her, finding a rhythm.

Her gasps became soft, wordless sounds of pleasure, and then sharp cries. He could feel her interior muscles clenching and releasing, creating an urgent, exquisite pleasure. His ragged breathing became hoarse groans even while she reached her own peak and shud
dered against him as they climaxed together, oblivious to the blasts outside which had long since ceased.

They shared another l
ong kiss which became gentler, more tender as the sensations faded. Damion drew her down and cradled her face against his shoulder, stroking her hair. She curled against him, wrapping her arms around his neck.

“Oh, my,” whispered Kaede. “My God. What was that?”

“I don’t know,” Damion answered honestly. “It just…seemed to happen.”

They lay together in the darkness for some time, until he felt what seemed like a shiver. “Do you want your blanket?”

She moved to stop him. “You know what will happen if the others find out, don’t you?”

He sighed. “Yes.”

“Do you really want to do that right away?”

Damion closed his eyes and let her push him back to the deck. He wrapped his arms around her, luxuriating in the feel of her hair. “No. Not yet.”
